Akpala Called Up to Replace Injured Emenike.

Joseph Akpala of Werder Bremen has been called up as a replacement for injured Emmanuel Emenike, ahead of the busy month of June for the Super Eagles.

Akpala was picked ahead of Turkey- based striker Michael Eneramo. The 26- year- old striker last played for the Eagles in 2010 after his long- awaited debut for Nigeria in September 2008 against South Africa.

The former Club Brugge of Belgium striker has scored twice for Super Eagles including the winner against France in a friendly in June 2009.

The hectic June schedule for the Eagles will have them play two 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Namibia before traveling to Brazil for the 2013 Confederation Cup.
