Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, yesterday held a closed door meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal shortly after a courtesy call.
Although details of the closed-door meeting were sketchy at the time of filing this report, Anenih told reporters that as a politician, he was in the House to see his colleagues.
“I am a politician. I came to see the politicians here. That’s my mission,” he said.
When quizzed if the closed-door meeting was on the realignment in the party towards closing ranks for 2015, Anenih said he had no idea.
“I have no idea; I didn’t come for that. Which alignment? PDP is not talking about presentation of a candidate; there’s nothing like alignment. Are you talking of the merger?” he asked.
However, the BoT chair said the party would always aim higher just like a reporter would aspire to become an editor.
Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, had informed Anenih of the House of Reps readiness to do a thorough job of checking the executive arm.
“We have been working closely with the party and the executive arm of government to do exactly what we have campaigned for on the platform of our party. We’ll continue to give Nigeria the best as an arm of government, and as representatives of the people,” he said.
