The late Super Falcons coach Joseph ‘Jossy Lad’ Ladipo will be buried on June 14 according to the Local Organising Committee (LOC) on his burial.
Edward Ayoola, the LOC chairman in a media briefing on Thursday in Ibadan, disclosed that a Christian wake- keep for the late Jossy Lad comes up on June 13 at his residence Kuola area of Apata, Ibadan.
Ayoola further disclosed that Service of Songs would hold at the Christ Church, Mapo Ibadan on June 14, to be followed by Interment.
The chairman also said that the deceased would Lie- in- State at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan where an exhibition match between 3SC of Ibadan and a selected team would hold.
For crowd control and security, the committee would engage the services of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Ayoola further commended the Oyo State Government, the National Sports Commission (NSC), 3SC and the media for the roles towards the successful burial, promising a befitting burial for the former IICC footballer.
Before his death on May 9, the deceased was admitted at University College Hospital, Ibadan for a heart- related ailment according to NAN reports.
Ladipo was a member of WNDC that later became IICC Shooting Stars. As former captain of the club, he lifted Nigeria’s first continental trophy in 1976 when he led Shooting Stars to clinch the (now defunct) African Cup Winners Cup.
