Fear Of Boko Haram Forces NLC To Cancel May Day Rally In Kano

NLCThe Kano state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday cancelled the workers day rally as part of the security measures put in place by the labour union over the current security challenges confronting the state.

State Chairman of the Labour congress, Comrade Isa Yunusa Danguguwa who made the union’s position known in Kano today said “we are celebrating in a low profile, with a limited number of workers representations, without match pass parade as it was normally done in the previous years”.

“Such decision must not be unconnected with security challenges in our dear state which we are all aware of, hence we decided to narrow our celebration this year and we can only visit hospitals to pray and greet patients and children’s homes as the only activity earmarked for the celebration”.
