The police commissioner said the feuding politicians will settle their rift.
The Police Command in Rivers is on top of the political crisis rocking the state, the Commissioner of Police, Mbu Mbu, said in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Mr. Mbu said at a press briefing that the police were equal to the task of dealing with anyone, who might want to capitalise on the current political crisis to cause mayhem. .
“We are equal to the task, any hoodlum, anybody, any criminal, who may want to hijack the present political situation in the state. It has not degenerated to that level, ‘’ he said.
The commissioner advised the people not to worry about the present situation in the state, adding that politicians would settle their political differences later.
”I told you they are politicians, they are going to sort out themselves, have you not seen them for all these 13 years now?’’ Mr. Mbu asked.
The Rivers State Government has accused five lawmakers in the state of a plot to impeach Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who is having a running battle with the presidency.
