Jurgen Klopp has vowed to strengthen his Borussia Dortmund team and reach another final after their Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich.

It took a late strike from Dutchman Arjen Robben to silence Dortmund fans, who had travelled to Wembley en- mass.

“We will come back, maybe not to Wembley but we’ll try to come back to another final,” Klopp said.

“I have much work to build a new team. I think we’ll get a pretty dscent team together , I wouldn’t worry about that.”

After losing playmaker Mario Gotze- who was on the bench in Wembley due to a hamstring injury- to Bayern, while Robert Lewandowski continues to be linked with a move to the Bavarians.

Klopp joked he was set for a busy summer as he looks to replenish his squad.

“Now we have to go on holiday, and buy some players because other clubs want our players,” Klopp said.

Dortmund did put up an impressive performance in the first- half, but failed to get a goal. The failure to get one past the Bavarians hunted them in the second half, when Mario Mandzukic tapped in a Robben cross in the 60th minute.

They pulled one back on the 67 minute when Ilkay Gundogan scored from the penalty spot following a clumsy tackle from Bayern defender Dante.

The match seemed to be headed for extra- time before Robben raced through Dortmund’s defence to seal the victory, less than two minutes to full- time.

“The team played a great game, they gave everything they had,” the former Mainz boss said. “They really deserved to equalise.

“I feel pride coming up in me and sadness goes away. It was a great season from my team and a really great match, perhaps the best match against Bayern in the Champions League this season.”
