Chelsea Legend Franck Lampard’s proposed move to Major League Soccer seems to have yielded a positive outcome as the midfielder has overcome a key obstacle to that effect. The 34- year- old has been reported to have succeeded in persuading his fiancée Christine Bleakley to join him in the State.
Lampard’s current contract with Chelsea FC expires at the end of the season and a move to LA Galaxy remains the only available option for the midfielder if he leaves Chelsea this summer.
Bleakley hasn’t been interested in a move to Los Angeles and the TV presenter was quoted as saying in January: “I’m a homebird. Coming to London was a big deal for me.
“I’m as far away from my mum and my sister now than I feel comfortable with.”
There are indications that Bleakley has accepted the decision to move to LA should Lampard seal a deal with the Galaxy.
It is understood the pair are considering properties and areas to live in the US to ensure their pending move across the Atlantic succeeds without hitches.
In January, Lampard’s move to the LA Galaxy was almost a done deal with Chelsea not in the mood of negotiating a new deal with the club’s second highest goal scorer.
By February, there were other indications the club had started to have a change of heart having decided to open a new contract talk with the player.
As it stands Lampard’s decision to remain at Stamford Bridge will largely depend on who resumes at the helm of affair at the club next season.
However, it looks like the midfielder may be heading to the MLS, should he choose to bring an end to his Chelsea career.
