Jang, who stated this in Abuja while inaugurating the new NGF secretariat operated by his faction of the Forum, noted that the governors had begun a process of reconciliation just as he congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan on his two years in office.
Jang also said his group decided to set up the new office to create a neutral ground for meetings of the NGF. The Forum’s previous meetings had always taken place in the lodge of the chairman.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State also lays claim to the same position and has the support of quite a number of governors particularly from the opposition.
Jang also said all issues regarding the NGF should be referred to him as the chairman of the Forum.
Jang later led 15 other governors to inaugurate the complex located on Nana Close, Maitama, Abuja.
Governors in attendance included Ibrahim Shema, Katsina; Isa Yuguda, Bauchi; Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta; Liyel Imoke, Cross Rivers; Idris Wada, Kogi; Olusegun Mimiko, Ondo; Theodore Orji, Abia; Peter Obi, Anambra; Ramalan Yero, Kaduna; Martin Elechi, Ebonyi, as well as the acting govenor of Taraba.
Also in attendance were deputy governors of Benue and Gombe states.
