Senator Oluremi Tinubu, representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has described Nigeria as a nation at war due to the rate of unemployment in the country.
She added that those in positions of authority must create opportunities for the youths to earn an honest living.
The former Lagos State first lady, who was a Special Guest, spoke on Saturday during a programme to boost small scale businesses and alleviate poverty in Ikeja Constituency II.
The programme, the sixth in the series, was organised by the member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Lola Akande, at Ojodu Local Council Development Area Secretariat.
Tinubu said, “Nigeria is a nation at war because of its army of unemployed youths that are despondent about their future.
“Initiatives, such as this, are germane to salvage Nigeria from the crises rocking its corporate existence.
“With initiatives of this nature, hopes can be rekindled among the masses and in our political system”, she said.
