Residents in Abuja and its environs will today experience intermittent power cuts as a result of ongoing repair works at the Katampe 330/132kv transmission substation, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said yesterday.
According to a statement issued by the company’s spokesman, Mr. Dave Ifabiyi, “there will be intermittent power interruption in Abuja and its environs on Saturday, June 1, 2013, to enable its engineers carry out emergency work at the sub-station.”
Ifabiyi, however, said the completion of the engineering works at the substation will enhance transmission capacity and improve power delivery to Abuja and environs and apologised for the inconvenience.
“TCN regrets any inconveniences the one day power interruption will cause the government and good people of the Federal Capital Territory,” he said.
