Boko Haram: Buhari’s A Big Security Risk To Nigeria’s Existence – Oritsejafor

Ayo OritsejaforFor the umpteenth time, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has called for the arrest of former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari for making “divisive and inflammatory statements”.

The National Leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) who spoke on Liberty Radio’s “Guest of the Week” programme monitored in Kaduna weekend, had questioned the “special treatment” given to the Niger-Delta militants by the Federal Government while the Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses destroyed by government.

Buhari was quoted to have said: “They (the Niger-Delta militants) were trained in some skills and were given employment, but the ones in the north were being killed and their houses were being demolished.”

But Oritsejafor picked holes in Buhari’s argument and urged President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately order his arrest as part of efforts to find lasting solution to the crisis.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Kenny Ashaka, Oritsejafor said “I have several times been vindicated that Boko Haram is not inspired by pecuniary motives, the latest of which is the statement by Robert Fowler, the released former United Nation’s envoy to Niger Republic who said in a BBC programme, “Hard Talk”, aired on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, that his captors never talked of poverty but Islamisation of Africa.

“Spent and defeated politicians with outburst of temper and elders like Buhari who take delight in inflaming religious and ethnic passions should, therefore, be arrested and made to explain some of the issues raised by them. This is why I call for the arrest of Buhari now. Buhari is a big security risk to Nigeria’s cooperate existence.”

  1. The pastor is right;it is as clear as night n day. After losing 2011,even failing to get majority votes in his own areas, which eventually triggered of ethnic n religious violence after the elections, the sadist of a general is still hell-bent on plunging this hugely populated country into another round of intolerance, violence n deaths.I think d C-in-C should damn all d consequences of he being his political rival and get him incarcerated,or at least arrested n questioned! If not,d consequences in 2015 might just be 2 great a tragedy 4 r entity 2 bear.

  2. DURING THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION,WE ALL SAW THE ROW THAT C.A.N. PLAYED WHICH INSTIGATED REACTIONS FROM THE OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. I WAS IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTRY AND I SAW OUR CHURCHES WERE USED AS CAMPAIGN HOUSES, SO I WONT ASK WHY ORITSEJAFOR TALKS LIKE THIS.I THINK AT THIS CAN MUST BE REGISTERED AS A PARTY

  3. Muhammadu Buhari has no right to mark any comment he likes,to him it Mains that thy is no one who can arrest him in this nation.but oneday God will arrest him by it self.haw can an old man like him fighting for political power making dis nation ungovernable for the precedent.some like him suppose to rule over cows, goat and domestic animals n’t human being Nigerian.if FG can’t arrest buhari, then FG is not for the masses.buhari don’t suppose top have a say in Nigeria.FG should arrest him,the Chinaman of CAN is right.

  4. i said sometimes on this site that jonas is breeding the militant for his re-election and also trying to bring down the boko as he sees them as the other version of if pet project and i can also tell you that like this pastor is involved or why would he know that the general is involved in boko activities and failed point out the link btw asari-jonas-militants?

  5. It is now clear that this pastor is a campaign instrument for jonathan after all he will work for the private jet collected fron GEJ. As a religious leader you don’t have to talk like that but I don’t blame him bcos both muslim and Christian have missed religion with politics. I don’t support Buhari neither do I support jonathan but oritsejafor is not in the best to shoe to give such advise being a religious leader that wine and dine with Federal Govt
