Driver, Printer Docked Over Alleged N10m Theft

A driver Mudashiru Abass, 27 and printer,Samson Adelekan, 18, were on Thursday arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja for allegedly stealing N10 million belonging to one Ayeni Olusesan.

nigeria-police-logo_6The defendant and the other suspect, Samson Adelekan, 18, who is a printer, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and robbery, were docked before Magistrate A .O Akinde.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the alleged crime on June 3, 2013, at about 11a.m at Plot 4, Jemibewon Street, Ogudu GRA, Lagos.

He said the defendants conspired among themselves and stole one Nissan Murano SUV with  number plate TZ 999 AAA, one Sony Plasma Tv and one Ups value atN10 million, property of one Ayeni Olusesan.

The prosecutor said the offence was punishable under Sections 409,295 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

Earlier, when the charge was read to the defendants who resides at 50, Catholic Road, Ibafo,  Ogun State and 9, Adeniyi Street, Bariga respectively, they pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Akinde, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum one of the sureties of each defendant to deposit N20,000, in to the account of the chief court registrar and adjourned the case to August 6,2013, for mention.
