Wayne Rooney and wife Coleen were stopped from going backstage at Glastonbury on Friday.
The Manchester United striker, who faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after handing in a transfer request, wanted VIP access to Dizzee Rascal’s set.
But the England international was denied entry after discussions with security staff over whether he had the correct wristband.
Rooney, 27, is an avid music fan and lists his favourite band as The Stereophonics. He even has a tattoo of one of the Welsh bands’ album on his right arm.
He had been enjoying their first full day at the festival having arrived by helicopter and were pictured with drinks in hand as Wayne relaxed before returning to pre-season training with the Premier League champions.
