Current Capital One Cup holders Swansea City are considering a move for Peter Osaze Odemwingie.

The 31-year-old forward has been the subject of transfer speculations since he revealed his desire to leave West Bromwich Albion following last season’s transfer burst-ups with the Baggies.

Crystal Palace and Hull City have been linked with the Nigeria international, but a move to Europa League-bound Swansea seem the most preferred.

The Birmingham Mail reports that sources close to the Olympic silver medalist have hinted that moves to the newly-promoted clubs might not interest him, with the player expected to be waiting on established top flight sides.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup wants to strengthen his forces upfront ahead of next season’s campaign that will have them play in Europe.

Odemwingie has just one year left on his current contract at the Hawthorn which could also mean a price cut.

Meanwhile, the striker has made known his desire to quit Albion before the beginning of next season and will jump at the right opportunity when it arrives. It is reported that the club is keen to get as much as they can from his sales, but are likewise ready to swiftly resolve his future before next season.
