Taraba Dispels Report On ‘Secret’ Return Of Ailing Suntai

Danbaba SuntaiTaraba State Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Emmanuel Bello, has debunked media reports that plans are underway to smuggle ailing Governor Danbaba Suntai back into the state to forestall his impending removal blaming the rumour on ‘mischief makers’.

Bello said those peddling the rumour are bent on making a mockery of such a sensitive matter, adding “Tarabans and indeed Nigerians should shun rumours concerning the return of the governor.

“No specific date has been announced yet for Suntai’s imminent return. Some mischief makers are branding fictitious date around to make mockery of a sensitive matter,” Bello said in a statement.

He further said the governor is currently stable and responding well to treatment after the crash, adding that “he now does rigorous physical exercises to strengthen him for the flight back home.

“The acting governor visited him recently in the US. So, at the appropriate time, we shall announce the date of his return. His return would not be shrouded in secrecy. So, no one should panic or bandy rumours of a certain date around,” he said.
