The Red Devils are set to complete the signing of young Uruguayan Guillermo Varela.
Dailymail revealed that the 20-year-old full-back, who was on trial at Old Trafford in the final weeks of last season, had already been made to sign before David Moyes was confirmed as successor to Sir Alex Ferguson last month.
He had done enough to impress coaches in his short time at Old Trafford and Manchester United has offered to complete the deal after a fee of around £1m was agreed with his club, Penarol.
As reported, the Uruguayan club’s treasurer, Rodolfo Catino, will be traveling with the player to iron out the final few details of the contract.
With the David Moyes’ Old Trafford revolution set to begin, Varela will be available for the Scot in a matter of weeks.
