Senator Ngige, whose brief stint as governor of Anambra State was characterized by high wired political intrigues and politics of god-fatherism before it was finally terminated by the courts, was addressing a section of his Anambra Central Senatorial District members in Awka, the state capital on Thursday.
He said, “I seek to touch your lives in a positive way when I become your governor and the purpose is to make you smile.
While explaining that his decision to run for governorship again was to uplift the people and give them a sense of belonging, the medical doctor turned politician added, “I am more interested in the welfare of the people and the development of the state.”
The former governor also used the occasion to disclose that by the end of July, the South-East zone of the APC would be formally launched in Awka just as he said they believe the party would make a difference in the region.
Senator Ngige thanked the people for their support and gave them gifts, including wrappers, blenders, food flasks and cash.
