West Brom has slapped a £2m price tag on unsettled Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie.

The former Bendel Insurance player, who was omitted from Baggies squad for pre-season training in Austria, has not kept secret his intention of moving away from the Hawthorns and has drawn interest from several clubs.

According to UK news tabloid, Express, Fulham’s new American billionaire tycoon owner, Shahid Khan, is keen on having the Olympic silver medalist in a move that could cost the Cottagers £1.5m, one-third of the initial £4.5 asking price stated by manager Steve Clark.

Odemwingie was the subject of a botched £3.5m transfer saga that had him drove himself to Loftus Road, at which point he was willing to “top up with £700,000 out of his wages” just to ensure he moves away from wilderness; before the move fell through.

Nevertheless, Dubai club Al Nasr reportedly offered £850,000 for Odemwingie, which West Brom out rightly rejected.

Odemwingie’s contract at the Hawthorns is due to expire next June. He has been training away from West Brom’s first-team, as the worst phase of his career drags on following his Twitter row with Albion fans.

The striker, who turned 32 last Monday, has been closely monitored by newly-promoted Crystal Palace and Cardiff. Palace are willing to offer £1.75m for the player who has already been tagged the bargain of the season.
