Convince Nigerians You’re Not Involved In Rivers Crisis, Ansarudeen Society Tells Jonathan

goodluck-jonathan1The Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria has challenged President Goodluck Jonathan to prove that he has no hand in the political crisis rocking Rivers State.

The National Missioner of the society, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Ahmad said such revelation would douse tension and restore confidence in the Presidency.

Sheikh Ahmad, who spoke at a news conference on the commencement of Ramadan on Friday in Lagos, described the fracas at the Rivers House of Assembly as shameful.

According to him, “It is a great embarrassment to the nation. We know the governor of Rivers State is having problems with the President and the Peoples Democratic Party.

“So, the President will have to convince Nigerians that he is not involved in the crisis at the Rivers House of Assembly.”

The cleric further noted that bad governance was a threat to national security and lamented that it was unfortunate that some people resorted to violence as a means of making their voices heard.

He warned the nation’s leaders against breeding criminals and terrorists under the guise of settling political scores.
