The home-based Super Eagles arrived in Abidjan on Thursday, ahead of the African Championship (CHAN) qualifier return-leg clash with the Elephants of Ivory Coast.

Led by NFF vice-president, Mike Umeh, the national team ‘B’ left Lagos for Abidjan on-board an Air Afrique flight which lasted 90 minutes before a smooth but rain-drenched touchdown in the capital city at about 10:50 (local time).

The team, which met a warm welcome by the Ivoirian FA officials, immediately checked into the Ibis Hotel and their first training was expected to commence by 4:30pm (Nigerian time).

On arrival, skipper Chigozie Agbim sounded a note of warning to his teammates reminding them of the job at hand.

“We are wary and I have told my mates to take the game very seriously because in football anything can happen. But we know we are here to pick the CHAN ticket and no team can stop us at this time,” said Agbim.

Nigeria emerged 4-1 winners of the first leg at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on July 6 and a draw will have the nation feature at next year’s CHAN holding in South Africa.

The kick-off time for tomorrow fixture will be 4:30pm Nigerian time.
