Former Super Eagles Star Was Brought to Hospital Dead – Dr Yussuf

Thompson Oliha, former Super Eagles midfielder, who died yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State at the age of 44 as confirmed by Doctor Yussuf Abdulraheem, was brought already lifeless to the Yusjib Industrial Medicare Hospital in Ilorin by his wife Iris.

oliha-ilorin-612x300Thompson Oliha, who was part of the victorious 1994 team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, passed on yesterday morning about 4.05a.m before medical help could be administered.

“I feel so sad to confirm to you that Thompson Oliha is dead and by the time his wife brought him here, his body was completely lifeless,” Doctor Yussuf Addulraheem explained.

“His wife, Irish Oliha, told me that he slumped in the toilet before rushing him to hospital and there was nothing we could do to save him.”

Before he died, Oliha was the head coach of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) in Ilorin, Kwara State and took charge of KFA’s 3-0 win over a Malian team on Saturday evening.
