I’m Still A Member Of PDP – Tambuwal

Aminu-TambuwalHouse of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, yesterday laid to rest widespread rumours that he was on the verge of dumping the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for an opposition party.

The Speaker cleared the air in an interaction with reporters at the Benin Airport, Edo State, yesterday saying that he was still a member of the PDP and was not set to leave the ruling party.

Tambuwal’s reaffirmation of his faith in the PDP came on the heels President Goodluck Jonathan’s warning to public office holders on the platform of the party that acts of indiscipline and anti-party activities would no longer be tolerated.

The Speaker has on several occasions being publicly seen fraternizing with members of the opposition and even commending the achievements of the opposition to the displeasure of members of the PDP.

But Tambuwal, while responding to a question on his membership of the party said with a hearty laugh, “I am still a member of the PDP. I remain in the PDP, I am a PDP member; I am hearing that rumour from you.”
