Nigeria’s senior men national basketball team, D’Tigers, has begun its final preparation for the 27th Africa Cup of Nations Afrobasket billed for Abidjan from August 20-31.
The coach Ayo Bakare-led team will put finishing touches to their strategies in Orlando, Florida, United States of America where their camp opens today (Thursday).
Most of the players that represented the FIBA Africa Zone-3 nation at the London 2012 Olympic Games have been included in the camp.
Regular players such as team captain Olumide Oyedeji, Alade and Al Farouk Aminu, Chamberlain Oguchi, Mike Umeh, Stan Okoye, Ike Diougu, Stanley Gumut, Andy Ogide, Derrick Obasohan and Abdulwahab Yahaya are already in camp alongside other notable players.
Assistant coaches Sani Ahmed, Ayinla Johnson, Abdulrahaman Mohammed and Ogoh Odaudu are expected to link up with coach Bakare at the Orlando camp.
