pdp-logoThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West has endorsed a nuclear physicist, Professor Wale Oladipo from Osun State, as the new National Secretary of the party in place of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Prof. Oladipo was unanimously adopted at an extra-ordinary zonal congress of the party which held in Ibadan on Saturday.

Chairman of the Osun PDP, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa and another chieftain of the party, Chief Lere Oyewumi, confirmed the adoption, saying the state had put forward its best candidate for the position, noting that “Professor Oladipo is a tested and accomplished professional who will not disappoint the zone and the national leaders of the party.”

In the same vein, the PDP zonal caretaker chairman, Chief Ishola Filani, said the appointment of Prof. Oladipo, a former chairman of Osun State Education Board and chairman of several Federal Boards, was in accordance with the order of a Federal High Court in Abuja which sacked Oyinlola from office.

The meeting was attended by party delegates and chairmen from all the six states of the zone except Lagos state chairman, who was absent.
