Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he still misses English football.
United would love to lure back the Portuguese superstar, who they sold for £80m in 2009, but all indications of a possible reunion with the Premier League champions seem not part of Ronaldo’s plans.
“I really miss English football,” Ronaldo told Sky Sports. For me it was some of the best years when I was there, everyone knows that. Manchester United is still a club that is close to my heart.”
“Now my life is in Spain and I have enjoyed playing there too,” he continued. “Part of my life is there, but in the future we never know. I am really happy in the Spanish League.”
Real are trying to get the 28-year-old to sign a new deal but United hopes his tie with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, now a director at the club, will bring him ‘home.’
