Second Republic Transport Minister, Umaru Dikko Heads PDP Disciplinary Committee

After years of political oblivion, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decided to bring back to national reckoning, former minister of transport in the second republic and campaign manager to former President Shehu Shagari, Dr Umaru Dikko, as it announced his appointment as head of the party’s seven-member National Disciplinary Committee.

In a statement yesterday by PDP’s national publicity secretary, Prince Tony Caeser Okeke, the party also appointed Publisher of Champion Newspaper and member, Board of Trustess, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu; and former Deputy National Chairman and BoT member, Alh. Shuaibu Oyedokun as members of the committee.

Others include King A.J. Turner, deputy chairman; Hajiya Nana Ayishat Kadiri; Barr. Hussaini Diraki; and Sen. Emmanuel Agboti, secretary.

The party said “pursuant to the provisions of Article 57 (1), (2), (3) of the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the leadership of the party has approved the composition of the PDP National Disciplinary Committee”.

It further said the committee shall be inaugurated by the national chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, on a later date.
