University Certificate Forgery Suspects Nabbed

The Enugu State Police Intillegence Bureau have arrested a group of individuals that deals in forging university certificates.

nigeria-police-logo_6The suspects were arrested based on the information the police gathered from some members of the public regarding their shaddy deals.

The suspects who charge N60,000 issue out various fake university, polytechnic and even secondary school certificates to their victims.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, confirmed the arrest and said the suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Olisa, Nwankwo Anthony and Osinachi Udoka were arrested at the Trans Ekulu axis of the state.

According to the PPRO, they were arrested while handing over a Higher National Diploma Certificate, H.N.D, with the inscription of Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, to one of the victims.

Items recovered from the suspects include, stamps with an inscription of Mechanical Engineering Department of IMT and that of a secondary school, six copies of certificates with the inscription of IMT, four identity cards, 45 files suspected to be owned by their victims and substance suspected to be hard drugs.

The state PPRO stated ” full scale investigations have commenced as suspects are now helping the police in their investigations.

“The state commissioner of police, Abubakar Adamu Mohammed has applauded the effort of his operatives just as he appealed to members of the public for partnership by a way of timely and useful information about crimes and criminality in their domain”, he added.

  1. Igbo man with forgery and drugs, very criminally minded people. The funniest part, an Igbo man will stand & tell you confidently that he is educated. I think 85% of the Igbo’s are actually illiterate that selling spare part or robbing and kidnapping people.
