APGA Suspends Gov. Okorocha

Rochas Okorocha (2)Governor Rochas Okorocha has become the third governor to be suspended by a political party in recent times after the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) wielded the big stick against him yesterday.

Gov. Okorocha was suspended for his open romance with the All Progressives Congress (APC), an action deemed by the APGA leadership as anti party activities.

Announcing the decision after an emergency National Executive Council meeting of APGA yesterday in Abuja, the party said NEC unanimously decided to dissolve the Imo State Executive Council of the party and a 21-man Committee to be appointed to run the affairs of the party until a congress is held.

Reacting to the governor’s suspension, Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, said the government was not unaware that APGA has been compromised and sold out to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He added that Gov. Okorocha’s decision to join APC was to serve Ndigbo better, insisting that the move was in the best interest of Ndigbo.
