Former Wigan Athletic striker Franco Di Santo has signed a three-year deal at Werder Bremen.
Di Santo, 24, who scored 5 times in 35 matches for Wigan last season, became a free agent after leaving Championship club at the end of June.
The Argentina international passed his medical examination at a Bremen clinic on Tuesday before penning down for the club from the banks of the Weser.
“Werder have a very good name and the Bundesliga is a very attractive league. I want to show what I am capable of here,” the former Chelsea FC striker said.
He arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2008 and was used as a substitute eight times during Chelsea’s 08/09 Premier League campaign, before moving to Blackburn Rovers on a 6-month loan.
Di Santo, who won the English FA Cup for the second time last season, joined Wigan in 2010 and went on to score 13 goals in 97 appearances.
