The 27-year-old Cameroonian joined QPR from Olympique Marseille last summer on a two-year deal which saw Joey Barton move the other way round on loan.

He went on to make 32 appearances for the London outfit. He is the seventh player to move away from Loftus Road, either on loan or permanently, since dropping to the lower Championship division.

Christopher Samba, Jose Bosingwa, Loic Remy, Park Ji Sung and Esteban Granero have all left in recent months.

Mbia was fined by QPR in May after a message on his Twitter account suggested he wanted to return to his former club Marseille.

The message was sent to barton from Mbia’s twitter asking: “Do you want to rechange (sic) your seat with me?”

The midfielder later denied the message, saying he does not have a Twitter account.
