Count Me Out Of Plans To Remove My Deputy From Office, Says Mimiko

Olusegun-MimikoGovernor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko yesterday denied reports of an alleged plan to impeach his deputy, Alhaji Ali Olanusi.

The governor dismissed the rumour as baseless.

The report, the governor said, was the handiwork of detractors of government who were bent on driving a wedge between him and his deputy.

Mimiko while denying knowledge of plans to impeach his deputy maintained that the two of them have a cordial relationship.

“It is even news to me; I was surprised to hear that the Assembly is planning to begin impeachment process against the deputy governor. No such plan in the offing in Ondo State. People float ideas for whatever reason they like, but this is an unsubstantiated statement,” he said.
