Nigeria U20 striker Kayode Olarenwaju’s move to Esperance of Tunisia has reportedly been delayed by a €5m get-out clause.
According to MTNFootball.com, Kayode and his agent Emeka Ezeala were eventually disappointed with some of the clauses inserted in the striker’s proposed move to Esperance, on their arrival in Tunis to sign the formal contract.
A top source that has been following the transfer said: “They have been shocked by some of the clauses in the contract and so may well now explore their options elsewhere most likely Europe.”
Esperance scouts traveled to Turkey to monitor Kayode during the recent FIFA U20 World Cup.
An agreement on personal terms between the club and the player was said to have been settled only for Kayode and his agent to discover some rather exploitative clauses in the formal contract.
Kayode, who played for Heartland FC before the U20 World Cup, has undergone trials with Belarusian club Dinamo Minsk and in the English Premiership.
