Enyimba skipper, Chinedu Udoji, has down played talks of a league and cup double for ‘The People’s Elephants’ this season.
The centre-back is not ruling out the two-time African champions from winning the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Federations Cup double this season but wants to believe that the Aba side has to take every game as it comes.
Enyimba are currently top of the NPFL leveled on 42 points with Kano Pillars and have played a game more than then defending champions.
“I can’t say anything (about winning the double). We are going to take it match by match, and with God anything can happen,” Udoji told supersport.com.
Enyimba will face Lobi Stars in the Federation Cup semi-finals at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium today (Wednesday) and Udoji knows it will be dangerous to “underrate” any of their opponents at this stage of the oldest football tournament in the country.
“FA Cup games are very different from league games. So we won’t make mistakes and we won’t underrate our opponents. I know it will be a tough game (against Lobi Stars) as they will want to play in the final just as we want the same,” he added.
