Mr Isaacs Kekemeke, former Secretary to State Government (SSG), and Mrs Yejide Ogundipe, former Chairman of Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
Mr Tunde Alake, former Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Akoko Northwest Local Government, also defected from PDP to the APC.
In a statement jointly signed by the defectors, they explained that they took the decision in order to join hands with the progressives across the nation.
“We have a difficult but clear choice to make, but we prefer to pitch our tent with the protagonists of better and more prosperous Nigeria, a safer and less corrupt country, with a more responsive leadership’’, the statement reads.
They stated that as progressive founding members of the PDP, they had chosen to join other progressives in the APC, saying they believed this was the positive side of history.
“APC may not be Eldorado, but we are convinced that it presents the only viable option for any one daring not to be indifferent in these unusual times.’’ (NAN)
