Gov Aregbesola Offers To Pay Bills Of 10 Journalists Involved In Ghastly Crash

Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has offered to pay the medical bills of 10 journalists who were injured in an auto accident near Ilesha, Osun, on Friday night.

osun-state-governor-rauf-aregbesola-360x270The journalists were among 10, three of whom died, while they were returning to their bases from a national assignment of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), which held in Abuja on Thursday.

Among the injured are the chairmen of Oyo and Lagos state councils of NUJ, Gbenga Opadokun and Deji Elumoye respectively as well as Fatimah Abdulkareem, the National Treasurer.

According to reports the survivors who are receiving treatment at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, are in stable condition.

  • No body should get me wrong on this, the governor’s gesture of good samaria to the journalists accident victim is commendable, however, buildiing a stste of the art trauma center in Osun state would have been the best samaritan gesture ever. I said this because because there are hundreds of accident victims who were never extended the arms of good samaritan.
