Kidnapped Edo Teachers Regain Freedom

Adams-OshiomholeAfter spending about two weeks in captivity, three primary school teachers that were abducted during school hours in Edo State, have been released.

They were released at about 3am on Tuesday at a village close to Gelegele village.

The victims- Patience Osadoplor, Momodu Aisha and Patience Oroghene were said to have been handed over to their family members.

Information Nigeria reports that the teachers were abducted at gun point at Orhogbua Primary School at Ekenwan village in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State on Tuesday, July 30.

The kidnappers had demanded the sum of N60 million as ransom before it was slashed to N15 million and further reduced to N7.5 million. However, it is not known if the ransom payment was made to secure the teachers’ freedom.
