The Director General (DG) of the National Agency for Foods, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr Paul Orhii, has declared that his ambition to contest the Benue State governorship election in 2015 and emerge victorious can only be decided by God.
The NAFDAC boss was rumoured to have declared his intention to succeed Gov. Gabriel Suswam as the next Benue State governor and had already kick started consultations with stakeholders at various local government areas.
But Orhii, who denied the allegations in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Makurdi, the state capital, admitted that he had in mind programmes that would enhance rapid development of the state, he has not yet declared his intention to run for the office in 2015.
“I have a job now that has made me occupied so much and 2015 is still some distance. But I always tell people that nobody knew I was going to be DG of NAFDAC and if somebody could tell me six years ago that I will succeed Dora as NAFDAC DG, I would say it’s a joke”, he said.
