The Sunshine Stars centre-back is expected to travel to Rize in Turkey to conclude the switch after the Nelson Mandela challenge in Durban, South Africa this Wednesday.

The Executive Director of the Ondo State Football Agency, who coordinates the affairs of Sunshine Stars, revealed to supersport.com that: “The deal has not been concluded yet but Godfrey will travel to Turkey this week after the match in South Africa on Wednesday. After then we will have a clear picture of the contract.

“At the moment I cannot disclose anything about the offer from Rizespor. When I have the information I will be able to talk about the financial terms and duration.”

Reports suggest that Obaobona has agreed to a four-year contract with the Turkish side.
