The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Plateau state, Solomon Maren, said on Friday that opposition political do not pose a threat to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Mr. Maren said in Jos that the opposition parties have lost their grounds as far as Bokkos Local Government Area politics was concerned.
He said the ruling party would not be deterred by any threat that the opposition would attempt to pose.
The commissioner, who hails from Bokkos, added that the present PDP-led administration in the state had done a lot for the people of Bokkos, hence they would not reject the party in upcoming general elections.
“The opposition parties are no longer a threat to the PDP and the good people of Bokkos Local Government Area.
“With the massive developmental projects that the present government has done and is still doing, it will be hard for any Bokkos man to turn his back on the party.
“We have witnessed different administrations, but the present government has given the people what they have not seen in many years and so they will fight to ensure PDP remains in government.
“Without any iota of doubt, I want to categorically say that the opposition parties have since lost grounds as far as Bokkos politics is concerned,” he said.
