Different political views of Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, did not prevent him from paying a condolence visit to Lagos Governor Raji Babatunde Fashola on Sunday over the passing of his father, Pa Ademola Fashola, who died last week aged 79.
Mimiko led top government functionaries in the state to the Lagos State Government House in Marina for the visit.
“The common prayer in Yoruba is that we leave behind worthy children after a life well lived. That prayer has found practical fulfillment in the life and time of the departed Pa Fashola”, said the Ondo governor.
Besides, The Ondo State governor signed the condolence register. He also highlighted what he sees Pa Ademola Fashola’s contribution to the creation of a more tolerate society in Nigeria:
“Not only has he left worthy children; he has also through an obvious liberal approach to religion left lessons of tolerance and neighborliness for us all.”
Governor Mimiko and Governor Fashola had been at odds over the Nigeria Governor’s Forum election which Mimiko and others rigged in favor of Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State.
