The victim, Kunle, aka Ifa, was hustling with the motorbike to make some money while waiting for the Nigerian government and university lecturers to settle an ongoing strike and call students back to campus.

Nigerian university lecturers called for a strike since July to force the Nigerian government to honour an agreement it reached with the lecturers in 2009. The strike meant millions of Nigerian university students were forced to return home.

The murder of Kunle sparked a brief protest in the community.

  1. A word from God to Fashola will wipe his generation $ those yet unborn. Yorubas are cowards otherwise there would have being series of attack on police station by now. Nigerian police are after law abiding citizens $ not the criminals as it in other countries. How many accidental discharge have we heard in Northern Nigeria, yet there are news of killings of policemen, burning $ setting free of suspected criminals. Just yesterday we heard of tens of police killed in kaduna. Lagos is the only city police harrass innocent person $ get away with it. These are men who can bearly spell their names. It is only this country you see parents buying their children ways to join police force when not doing well in school, what a country! All they no is to pull the trigger $ call it accidental discharge. Now within a space of three days police has killed three persons- two in Ikorodu $ one in Iba, somewhere Okokomaiko. FASHOLA call your men to order LASTMA $ Police, you are ruining your future all in the of enforcing traffic laws, the man (Fashola) using you we never use his children. The voice of people is voice of God, the wise hears it $ take caution.
