Coach Stephen Keshi named a side with fewer faces from the Afcon 2013 with the likes of Portugal-based John Ogu, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Obinna Nsofor and Shola Ameobi of Newcastle in his starting line-up.

But it was Uche Nwofor that scored a brace on the 49 and 68 minutes which made coach Gordon Igesund side miss out on the trophy.

Bafana Bafana were close to scoring on few occasions. A clever finish by Nwafor, who slotted home a loose ball four yards from goal, after a Masilela’s tackle on Oduamadi gave Nigeria the lead.

The VVV Venlo striker, Nwofor, later tapped in substitute, Ahmed Musa’s assist after a nice link up play initiated by Chelsea forward Victor Moses in the wings.

And with 15 minutes to full-time, Lerato Chabangu’s shot missed target, so did Bernard Parker and substitute Lebogang Manyama as Nigeria clinched another victory in South Africa.
