The burial of late Apostle Timothy Obadare of the World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry, WOSEM, who was buried last week in Ilesa, Osun State gulped N96 million, according to his eldest son, Pastor Paul Obadare.
The Osun State Government had released N35 million for the event, but Obadare’s son said the family spent more than that amount.
According to him, the casket in which Obadare was was buried cost N5 million. N61 million was also spent on the construction of a mausoleum for the late man of God, while another N30 million was spent on entertainment.
Paul, who commended the Osun State Government for the donation, said the money given by the state government was part of the amount spent. He said many other people contributed to the burial.
The burial of the late seer was very grand and a beauty to see, but observers say N96 million was too huge an amount to be spent on the burial of a humble man of God such as Obadare.
Obadare, a blind seer, was buried last weekend at Ilesa, Osun State in a ceremony that brought thousands of Nigerians together irrespective of their religion or class.
