Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has denied knowledge of the purported offer by President Goodluck Jonathan to former Chief Security Officer, CSO, to the late General Sani Abacha, Major Al-Mustapha, to join the ruling party.
It was reported that Mr. Jonathan had indeed wooed Al-Mustapha, freed by an Appeal Court last month of complicity in the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential elections, late Chief MKO Abiola, to join PDP with a view to using his massive appeal in the North, to help actualize his re-election in 2015.
However, the reports said Al-Mustapha did not make any commitments as he was still consulting.
But the PDP yesterday denied any talks between the President and the former CSO.
Making this known, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Tony Caesar Okeke said there was no such invitation and that those peddling the story did so for ulterior purpose, saying “We are not aware of any such invitation.”
Even if Jonathan invited al mustapha is it strange? Afterall the crook that wwas convicted and served his sentence was not only pardoned but is his role model in pdp. What about the criminal that served his sentence who even though not pardoned is a BOT member of pdp? To qualify for membership of pdp u need to be a crook anyway. Good thing APC is to the rescue.
