11 Hadejia Guards, 3 Others Killed In Auto Crash

11 Hadejia Palace Guards, 3 others in Jigawa State have been killed in a ghastly motor accident involving a bus and petroleum tanker.

The palace guards were on their way in a bus to Kano to receive their Emir, Dr Abubakar Maje Haruna, who was returning from a trip to Abuja.

Sources said the accident occurred at Zakirai village, Ringim Local Government Area, Jigawa State, at about 9pm Monday as the guards were on their way to the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to receive the Emir of Hadejia.

According to the Information Officer of Hadejia local government council, Muhammad Garba Talaki, whoconfirmed the incident, the accident happened during a heavy downpour when the bus conveying the palace guards had a head on collision with a petroleum tanker.

Immediately after the head on collision, the tanker instantly went up in flames resulting in the burning of all the people involved in the accident beyond recognition.

He said the corpses of the guards were taken back to Hadejia for burial today.
