DSS Hands Over Arik Stowaway Teenager To Edo Govt

stowaway teenThe 13-year old teenager, Daniel Ohikhena, who flew from Benin to Lagos in the tyre compartment of an Arik airplane about a fortnight ago, has been released from the custody of the Directorate of Security Services.

Ohikhena was released on Tuesday morning to officials of the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

His mother, Evelyn, who denied that her son fled home due to his maltreatment in her hands, was at the office of the DSS where she saw her son briefly and was de-briefed on why they held onto him even after confirmation that he was not a high security risk.

The mother was later asked to go to the ministry for further briefing.

Meanwhile, Head of Social Welfare department, Imuetiyan Avielele, said they would carry out further interrogation of Ohikhena
