Dutchman Krol Takes Charge of Tunisia as Interim Manager.

Tunisia Football Federation has named CS Sfaxien manager Ruud Krol as interim head coach of the Carthage Eagles ahead of the third round of the Fifa 2014 World Cup qualifiers African Zone, following the resignation of Nabil Maaloul after the side’s 2-0 loss to Cape Verde Island on 7 September.

Cape Verde forfeited the stunning victory to the North Africans after Fifa’s Disciplinary Committee discovered the Blue Sharks had featured an inelligible player in the encounter.

Tunisia were then handed the Group B berth and features in Monday’s playoff draw as Caf’s fifth seeded nation.

“The president of CS Sfaxien Lofti Abdennadher and Tunisia FA president Wadii Al Jarii have reached an agreement to allow coach Ruud Krol take charge of the national team in the interim. The agreement is for the coach to lead the team to the knockout stage of the World Cup qualifier,” an FA statement read.

“During the preparation period, Krol will be able to exercise his duties as Sfaxien coach,” it added.

Sfaxien face Algerian side Etoile du Sahel on Saturday in the Caf Confederation Cup and the Dutchman will be sitting in the dugout for the Tunisian champions.
