It was reported by some sections of the media that the 25-year old left-back has signed a two-year contract with Besiktas worth €600,000 paid to his Portuguese club Sporting Braga.

But the defender, who signed a four-year deal with Braga in June 2010 from French club, Stade Rennes, said on his official website www.elderson3.com:

“It’s not true that I have signed for Besiktas. There was no agreement between Braga and Besiktas. I am still a player of Braga.”

He further stressed the facts concerning his future on his twitter account (@eldersonech) saying: “Pls disregard any report that I have signed for besiktas. I’m still a player of sporting braga.”

The former U17 and U20 player, who has earned 35 caps for the national team, also said that he is strongly “focused” on Saturday’s World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Malawi.

Everything abt a transfer is behind me as I’m focused on Saturday’s match vs Malawi.”

He has reportedly been linked with a host of European clubs including Besiktas, Fulham and Everton.
