The Governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, has thrown his weight behind 2013 Federation Cup winners Enyimba ahead of their forthcoming continental outing.

‘The People’s Elephant’ after emerging victorious over Warri Wolves in the final match of this year’s Cup, played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, earns the right to represent Nigeria in the 2013/14 CAF Confederation Cup.
The governor said this while fielding questions from journalists on arrival from Lagos where he witnessed the tension-soaked victory over Warri Wolves last Sunday.
He pledged both financial and moral support to Enyimba and Abia Warriors FC saying: “We’ll continue supporting Enyimba and Abia Warriors and all clubs that are doing well and encourage them to be the best.
“We are doing our best within the limits of our resources.”

He admitted the “tension” involved in watching the two-time Caf Champions League winners come from behind twice and, going on to win the encounter 5-4 on penalties.
“I was tensed up at that moment but my confidence overcame the tension in me and Enyimba justified the confidence as they won,” Gov. Orji added.
