A member of the House of Representatives, Sani Moh’d Aliyu Rano, whose name was among lawmakers listed to have pledged their allegiance to the ‘New Peoples’ Democratic Party’ under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has distanced himself from the caucus saying he is a bonafide member of All Progressives Congress.
Rano, member representing Rano/ Kibiya/ Bunkure Federal Constituency of Kano State, was reacting to media reports which indicated that he was among 57 House of Reps members that had expressed support for the splinter PDP.
In a statement yesterday, Rano noted that it was erroneous on the part of those who orchestrated the New PDP Representatives’ list as he was neither a member of the ‘Old or New PDP’.
“I am not a member of whether the Old or New PDP. Since I am not a member of the PDP, I don’t know how my name appeared on the list of the so-called New PDP House of Representatives Caucus,” Rano affirmed.
